It's possible to avoid probate when an estate is "small." Whether it is "small enough" depends on whether it's personal property or real property.

Arizona
In Arizona, when the value of real estate is less than $75,000
or the value of personal property is $50,000,
probate isn't necessary and the assets can be transferred by a simple affidavit procedure.
Nebraska
Nebraska has a similar affidavit procedures, but the value of real estate must not exceed $30,000 and the value of personal property must not exceed $50,000.
